10,000AUD budget, 3 weeks annual leave, 1 honeymoon of a lifetime – where do we go?
My Fiance and I are thinking of doing a SoutEast Asia trip after we get married this Sept 08. We want to include Thailand (Ko Samui and Chiang Mai), Hong Kong (short leg just for shopping) and possibly Vietnam or Philippines.
We thought about Bora Bora and over water bungalows but we realised we enjoy activity (adventure sports) and adventure (hiking, trails) mixed in with induldgence such as deserted beaches and spas!
We thought SE Asia would be perfect on such a grand budget – rather than 5 nights for the same price stuck on one beuatiful but boring atoll in Bora Bora.
Does anyone have a suggested itinerary for us with the countries mentioend above?
Romance, adventure, active sports, seclusion & romantic getaways, luxury and beaches. That’s what we’re looking for…
Hi… 10k can get you a long way in SE Asia.
I have to say Bali is the most romantic place of all, but it really depends if you feel you can push aside how media has portrayed Bali…
Thailand – is great ..beautiful and shopping is great – theres alot of good places there but my fave was Chiang Mai, and Phuket was great.
Vietnam – absolutely stunning… from the north to south its absolutely gorgeous… but i have to say, north vietnam has better scenery, but south vietnam is much much better for shopping, food, and ppl are much friendlier down south. My fave in Vietnam was Nha Trang (sth vn) – i water skiied there until my skin was burnt … and the skin under the burnt skin was burnt… hihi
and Cambodia – definitely for scuba diving, fishing etc.
The best thing is..its cheap to do alot of things… water sports, climbing, fishing ..things that would cost us almost an arm or leg to do in australia… its worth making the most of it in asia.
My summary of Asia is that no matter where you go, the scenery is beautiful and romantic… the ppl are loving, the food is great and the shopping… absolute heaven!!!!
But if you like the busy rush type of atmosphere i recommend Hong Kong… to me, i didn’t enjoy it as much as i would had liked to and it was too overcrowded for me.
In the end, no matter where you go, no matter the destination… if you have your partner by your side, its already the best place to be… so good luck and enjoy.
