How will living in an RV affect my credit rating?
I want to live in a Recreational Vehicle and drive around and have adventures while I save up enough money to put a down payment on an actual home, for which I will want to get a prime interest rate. I will be working full time as a public librarian and would either get a P.O. Box or use my mom’s or ex-girlfriend’s address as the place I receive mail. If it would make things easier, I could also live in a houseboat.
It won’t affect your credit rating, except that you will not show any record of rent paid, which is not a big problem.
You may want to check out
A: the cost of renting a space to live in the RV. Many cities/counties have rukles about permanent use of an RV, and you will likely need to rent at an approved RV park (not cheap).
B: the price of gas for this ‘adventure’ You may find the cost of moving around like that will put a pretty big dent in the house saving plan.
But hey, if it works for you, even if only for a year or two, have fun!
