A popular destination for many a year, Brazil has been able to call upon its beautiful beaches and beautiful people, as well as rely upon its carnival atmosphere which peaks throughout the night. However, it would be remiss not spend some time in Rio of course. Whilst not unique, it does have the highest number of gay beaches to tan yourself on, whilst a host of other daytime activities are well spread throughout; including bath houses, saunas and pools.
But of course, it is the nightlife that is the big draw; and there is no shortage of bars and clubs, drag shows and restaurants particularly geared to you and your interests. Do be careful though; too much partying, and you may not have the energy to drag yourself to the beach to bronze your body!
And then of course we have the Carnival. If there is one thought that people immediately conjure if Rio is mentioned to them, it will be this. And there is no doubt that, if you can, you should go to at least two days of this party to beat all parties. Chances are, you will not just go the once either.
Whilst travel to Brazil generally goes off without incident, it is always best for gay travelers to remain aware of those areas where they may not be open to your different lifestyle.
