I am no fan of social engineering parading about as entertainment. Plus who really profits?
Better options are Outward Bound, White Water Rafting on various rivers for organized adventure. Fishing, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing and hunting are less travel distance than that single resort location and in most of the US and Canada, you are not far from many of those activities already.
Save your money for other things that have more real impact. Sit down and figure an approximate cost for that hypothetical trip- then go to any of the vendors of Photovoltaics, wind power, passive solar equipment, and see what you can do to reduce your energy costs by investing in those other technologies than some trip to some theme resort to get you to buy into the notion of carbon trading/carbon offsets, etc that the bankers who run the carbon trading boards want you to buy into. Vote with your money.
Why go for the simulacra when you can do the real thing? The information is out there. It just takes some initiative.
