Some advice please?

I posted something similar to this yesterday about whether or not to choose the puppy or the older dog. And I am still confused. I have to decide soon too because the puppy is nearly old enough to go to her new home. Here’s my dilemma:

I like the maturity a grown dog brings.
I can CONTINUE training with them
No chewing, whining, or accidents on the floor
May be a better choice for getting into therapy

I love the adventure and challenge of a new puppy
but i don’t want to put up with chewing (eventhough i could)
She picked this puppy FOR ME and me alone but it won’t hurt her feelings if i decide otherwise.

I’m 21 years old and recently moved to a new place that allows pets. I’m a new college graduate and am in the process of looking for a part time job. I’m very laidback yet would love a bigger, more active dog to take on walks and to be my guardian angel (even if they are chicken) The dogs in question are german shepherds. Can anyone help me out?

In my opinion it seems the better match for you would be an older dog. Here are the reasons, you seem like you have a full schedule to deal with already and an older dog would be more suited to that scedule.
Also older dogs are more laidback as you say you are. Puppies tend to be high strung. Also with a puppy you’re never really sure how their personality would compare to yours but with an older dog their personalities are easier to determine.
Good luck, hope my advice helps a little if not a lot!
