What books/stories are your must reads for various holidays?
I’m just curious to know what books or stories folks here feel they must read for the various holidays each year. What you feel you’re holiday won’t be complete if you don’t read at least one of the elements on your personal reading list for that holiday.
For me I really only have two holidays I have some kind of reading list for, Halloween and Christmas. For Halloween my list to choose from is:
Various ghost stories
various Poe stories
Washington Irving’s “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow”
For Christmas my list to choose from is:
L. Frank Baum’s “The Life and Adventures of Santa Claus”
Charles Dickens’ “A Chrismas Carol”
For Christmas-
Dylan Thomas’ “A Child’s Christmas in Wales”
and Raymond Briggs “Father Christmas”
