Volcano Island : A Great Escape
Be honest with yourself; if you had a chance to escape your every day life and explore a tropical island, you would. You are not alone. Volcano Island is a great mobile game to have downloaded on your phone. You can think of it as a cross between an action game and a puzzle game. The story line is very funny and it will keep you occupied for hours as you try to complete each level so you can advance to the next.
So what makes this game different than a lot of the other action/thinking games available on the market these days? To start with you have the concept. You, the hero, gets swept away when on his vacation cruise. You are alone on this haunted island. At least you think that you are alone. The game is set up so that you have to avoid the hunting spirits that come after you. You survive by outwitting the ghosts, navigating through all the mazes and collecting all the necessary items in order to make it to the next level.
If you complete all the levels, then you find your way off the haunted island and live to play another day. If you fail at a level then you just keep trying until you get it right. The game will definitely keep you occupied and the graphics are really good considering it is for a mobile application. That is saying quite a lot considering how many mobile games are now on the market.
Volcano Island is a solid “B” grade game. Why does it garner a B grade? It is because the developers did not put much thought into the game layout. Each level does kind of resemble the previous one. You often wonder if the game is a hybrid of Pac-Man and Indiana Jones. Advanced mobile game users may not find this terribly exciting. The game is solidly built but just does not have a lot of complication to it. New mobile gamers may like that they can get a feel for the game without it being too complicated.
