Best friend is really unmotivated to do anything?
He is turning 18 here pretty soon. He doesn’t have his license, no job, and plays video games or sits on the computer being lazy most of the time. I have done so much for him, taking him out cliff jumping, adventures people would craze for, and have tried to give him as much of a friendship as I could ever offer. He is practically a brother.
Now that high school is out, he hasn’t bothered to text me, or in anyway contact me. I lifeguard now for my summer job, and will be leaving for the Navy in September. He doesn’t have a college chosen, or even a career in mind for that matter.
Irritating because it seems like he has purposely put a gap between us. He now hangs out with people that are pretty much “outcast” in our school. I’m the type of guy who has always been popular and fun to be with. Is this just another part of life or WHAT?
Don’t be so snobby I can completely understand your worry for your friend it’s the same with my sister! Although whats wrong with hanging out with outcast? Just because your popular gives you no reason to think your better than them!
But with the whole trying to get him motivated it really sounds as if you have done all you could theres not much else, if he doesn’t want to get involved its him who will be in a rutt when his older but you can’t feel responsible for him. He will grow up to realise what a great friend you were. But in the mean time, just wait and hope for the best!
