why do parents have problems with their children reading fantasy books?
my mom keeps bugging me to read “classic” books, which are her own kind of genre that she likes, and her definition of a classic is that the book is at least 10 years old, it has at least one Newbery Medal or other award, and most of the books are old- fashioned and the plot is not very satisfying to those like me who enjoy real adventure instead of a story where ladies worry about and wonder if their father is coming home.
by the way, i already read The Giver.
its a really good book!
possibly because it goes against their beliefs, even though reading it doesn’t mean you automatically believe in that stuff. IDK. it’s weird though….
