Where can I hike in Pa near Allentown?

For my birthday (big 30) I want to go for a hike with my hubby and some friends. I have 2 kids so I don’t get to go out to often and I LOVE being outdoors. So I live south of Allentown and I’m looking for a great place to hike. I’ve looked into the appalachian trail that runs through Allentown but I can’t even find out where you pick it up at. I’ve been on the trials website and unless I’m missing something it just kinda gives you a run around, nothing said direct. Or if someone has other suggestions, just want some fun with AWESOME views…. nothing that you need to be an expert at some friends don’t really hike to much. Thanks!!

I live in FLorida but I have family near Scranton. Whenever I go there I make it a point to go to Francis Slocum. I don’t know if it like an hour north of Allentown though. I don’t know if that would be too far to drive to take a hike. There are a lot of other things to do thre beside hiking also. I found the site for you.
