I’m going to the grand canyon in 4 weeks, how can I train?
Here is what I will be hiking:

How can I prepare myself?
Your map indicates you are going into Havasupai, which is west of the main section of canyon, and not as steep. It is a long hike (8+ miles) to the village, and further to the campground, and falls. I assume you are spending the night either at the lodge or the campground. It will be super HOT in 4 weeks, with little shade along the way. So, you need to be able to hike 10+ miles easily with whatever weight you need to carry for your stay in 100+ degrees to be comfortable. Unless you are going to try to go in and out in the same day. I don’t advise that this time of year. Carry LOTs of water!!!! Whatever you think you need, take more.
You must have permits from the Indian tribe, and I would suggest that you camp in your car the night before and get a very early start. The parking lot is quite a drive from any other accommodations. The link has some good information on the area.
