What is the most popular 4,000 ft hike with the best views in the white mountains?
I am in Campton NH and am wondering what the best hike is in that area to do. I have done Mt Osceola and Welch and Dickey. Thanks!
If you move really fast and light, do the AT southbound from Pinkham notch visitors center up over Madison, Adams, Jefferson, and Washington then come down Tuckermans and back to the visitors center. If you’re really fast you can do it in one day. Or you can take it easy by hiking to the tent area about 1/4 of the way up madison (3-4 hours relaxed pace from PNVC), then spend the next day hitting the four peaks which each offer their own amazing views, then when you come down tuck’s you can camp at the lean-to’s there or shoot straight for the visitors center which will be about another 2 hours past the lean-to’s.
