What should i bring when I go hiking?
I’m new at hiking. I’ve been going around the mountains of the Shenandoah’s. I’ve been a few times this month and love it. I’m a poor college student and have no gear. I haven’t even bought hiking shoes yet, I’ve been using my running shoes. I nearly fell off Old Rag last night when I slipped and fell while rock scrambling and decided that I should probably go shopping for at least shoes. I want to start small and buy the necessities. I don’t go out for more then a day hike so no sleeping stuff needed. I have no idea what else is needed.
a back pack fill with trail mix, water, first aid kit, maps, flashlight, camera,compass,hiking stick i think thats what is called? and cell phone of course!
