Are my boots going to be okay for backpacking?
I have these shoes: Ariat Women’s Terrain Cordovan (SKU#70063). I have been hiking in them a few times and they are broken in very well from use around the farm. I am going backpacking for a week, and am planning on taking these shoes and another pair (Keen cross training WP). Since I have not backpacked with these shoes before, I am concerned that they will not suffice.
Does anyone have any insight to this? Suggestions after reviewing the shoe?
I would appreciate it very much if you have and advice!
gotta agree with casey i would just make sure 1 that if you havent done this already do it before you go. Clean both the boots and shoes off and give them atleast 2 coats of any kind of water proofing spray. second. i would suggest you get some new socks for your trip only because new socks have the most cotton padding on them to protect your feet somewhat from getting blisters if you are doing some major hiking which it sounds like you are. Im sure if you look at your older socks they are starting to wear and dont have as much padding to them. Also maybe consider getting some insole padding for your boots. The last thing you want is to be on day 3 or 4 and have your feet covered in blisters. Not fun
