Tips for a beginner hiker in Southern California?
I moved to the LA area, and just started doing small trails and find it easy to get bored in the dry and arid San Gabriel mountains. I’d love to try some ocean-cliff-hikes, if there are such things. Any tips in general for a beginner hiker in these parts? Thanks!
There is a beautiful hike in Palos Verdes. There is a special parking lot at the Trump National Golf Course thats especially for hikers, The right side trail goes along the cliff and finally decends down to a beautiful, but rocky beach. You can then take the southern trail back up to the top.Very beautiiful views. On a clear day, you can almost reach out and touch Catalina Island. Look on a map and find the golf course .Its on Palos Verdes Dr.South and Ocean View Trails.
