Frisco vs Mesquite, TX?
We are moving to the Dallas Area with a job transfer for me. We are moving mostly sight unseen from Massachusetts. We will have one trip together for apt. hunting and are looking for information about the area (best places, worst places etc.) We are a late mid-late 20′s recently married couple who like the outdoors and would like to be in an area that offers bike/hiking trail etc.
any info would be great!
I wouldn’t consider Mesquite. Frisco is nice – - new area, lots of shopping, restaurants, young families.
There is a very nice place for hiking/biking in the hills over looking Joe Pool Lake. It’s Cedar Ridge Preserve off of Mt Creek Parkway south of I 20. It’s actually in Dallas, but borders on Cedar Hill and Grand Prairie. The state Park at Joe Pool Lake is a beautiful, clean park/lake for water sports as well as hiking/biking. We live in south Grand Prairie near the lake and love it here. There are some relatively new apartments around I 20 & Hwy 360.
You didn’t mention where you’ll be working in Dallas, but I 20, Hwy 360, I 30 and Loop 12 make Grand Prairie convenient for getting to work in Dallas. Get back to us with where you’ll be working and we may be able to recommend a good area nearby.
