Romantic Island vacation, which one to choose?
My husband and I want to take a romantic vacation to an island or beach in 2012, we are a young couple, we have been married for 4 years. We never went on a honeymoon, and we have never taken a trip out of the country before, so we want it to be special. We want to be secluded from others, a place where we can relax and enjoy each others company undisturbed. we also want to have some activities available for us such as snorkeling, parasailing, hiking, or other exciting activities. we are looking at Bora-Bora, Fiji, and Jamaica, does anyone have information to share or experiences at these places? does anyone suggest another option?
If you can fit it into your budget, go to Bora Bora. It’s such a wonderful place to visit. It’s secluded, quiet, amazingly beautiful, and extremely romantic. Plus, staying in a bungalow (even if it’s not overwater) is so cool.
My husband and I went there for part of our honeymoon; we were there for 3 nights. We did a 4×4 tour of the island, we did a shark and ray feeding tour (they take you out to the middle of the lagoon and feed the sharks, which attracts a lot of other fish and the rays – and you’re in the middle of all of it!), we did some snorkeling, we rented a car and drove ourselves around the island, and we may have canoe’d, but I’m not sure if we did that there or on another island.
You don’t need to spend your whole vacation on one island. We stayed on Moorea for 4 nights, and I loved it there. It’s a bit less expensive there than on Bora Bora, but it’s still really nice (and it’s a bit less touristy).
We stayed here on Moorea: http://www.ichotelsgroup.com/intercontinental/en/gb/locations/overview/MOZPF (beach bungalow)
