Exploring Cape Town
The Cape Peninsula is among the planet’s most stunning travel landscapes. Its rugged mountain range perches high, penetrating the isolated southern Atlantic.
Take walks along the truly sensational beaches. Get to know whales up close and personal. Take a travel through astoundingly magnificent rocky inlands. Go trekking up mountains which climbs up through the sky.
Perhaps the most effective way of enjoying the natural and unique beauty of this area is to take a travel to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve, following each of the coastal highways by car. Heading to the west coast, the Chapman’s Peak path crosses Sea Point’s urban coast and takes in Clifton’s beaches famed for their natural beauty.
Even after the country gained its independence the minorities of settlers from Europe were in control and ran the country in a very racist and segregated way. This finally changed in 1994 when black people gained complete political rights and were finally granted equality. A interesting fact about South Africa is that it is the only continuously democratic government in all of Africa and it is the only country that has created nuclear weapons and dismantled them on its own free will.
Now that the racial segregation and legal discrimination have come to an end, it is much better to explore the beauty of South Africa. There is a lot to see and do in this beautiful country including the city of Cape Town or Table Mountain National Park. Westwards there is Shipwreck Coast on the Cape of Good Hope where countless ships have sunk and lie preserved, adding uniqueness to the already gorgeous coastline. Whales are very common in South Africa especially in Hermanus, a coastal town known, and well-worth visiting for whale watching.
A family trekking up the mountain climbing up through clouds will also be good for family bonding. Just walk with your loved ones and let them know that you will be there for them through an adventorous trekking. After the trekking, to kick back and relax in the afternoon, go for a guided tour to feel the overwhelming presence of enormous whales.
The Castle of Good Hope, recognised as the oldest structure in South Africa can be found in the city center, along with many museums. Nearby are Bo-Kaap’s cobblestone streets. This area houses the nation’s first mosque and is still home to many quaint ancient buildings. Standing in stark contrast to these is the oldest home and vineyard on the Cape: Groot Constantia. The site can be found on the aptly named Constantia Wine Route, which physically, historically and culturally links it to the famous vineyards of Helderberg and Durbanville.
