Trekking Quebec

I’m traveling tomorrow to VT, NH, etc?

Total last minute, so no time to prepare. Traveling with my family of 4–2 kids, 8-17.

Want to have a peaceful, beautiful week away, any ideas?

I’ve heard Lake Winnipesaukee in NH is beautiful. Did the Mt Washington about 9 years ago and not sure I want to do that drive again.

We live in western NY so it will be a lot of driving and to that end we would like to settle somewhere very unhurried. Am also contemplating a trip to Quebec City from NH, anyone made that trek?

Thanks for any last minute travel tips and words of wisdom. We are free and easy and may consider a day in Boston, or someplace else, we just want to go with the flow but don’t wish to come home and find out we missed the coolest thing! We are big into American history, so if you’ve done something along those lines that would be interesting too.

Thanks again!

Vermont is lots of fun! That’s where I have lived for my entire life. You can get maple syrup (yum!) and delicious Blakes Ice Cream at the Blueberry Haus in Guilford. Brattleboro has many nice family restaurants and stuff like the gallery walk on Main Street every Friday and the street vendors are actually safe to buy stuff from! If you are interested in that area (South-East Vermont), here are some recommendations for places to stay: Green River Bed and Breakfast in Guilford www.greenriverbridgehouse.com or the Colonial Inn in Brattleboro. Here, you are also 45 minutes from Greenfield, MA, 30 minutes from Keene, NH, 1 1/2 hours from Hartford, CT, and 2 hours from Boston, MA. Have fun on your trip!
