TWISP — For Tom Halpin, a desire more than a dozen years ago to go trekking in the high mountains of the North Cascades without lugging that heavy sleeping bag became a business opportunity. “I can recall hiking at 7,000 to 8,000 feet with no sleeping bag — they were too heavy,” Halpin said. But that was no solution. So instead, he and a friend founded Nunatak.
